We cannot always convince ourselves that failure, in many cases, isn’t detrimental or disadvantageous. We are still frightened, anxious and panicked about it. But with those emotions, there is a price: we are constantly looking at the worst, focusing on what could go wrong, and ultimately expecting to fail. We do not give ourselves the resources to excel, because it isn’t our mind’s priority. Instead our mind is in overdrive, trying not to fail; therefore, it’s looking out for all the ways it could fail, rather than looking out for all the ways it could excel. This week, let’s challenge ourselves to have courage and faith in ourselves to do what we’ve always wanted to do. Let’s imagine all the wonderful possibilities and clear our minds of negative energy. When we give ourselves permission to fail, we, at the same time, give ourselves permission to excel.
