Yes you can

The odds might be high, the stakes might be great, the road might be long, but you can do it. You have so much potential, so much strength and so much passion that you can do anything. The only walls are those in your mind. If you believe you can, you will. Yes, you can. Yes, you will.

What everyone else is doing

If we want to achieve and succeed, we should stop looking around for someone else to give us the instructions, the expectations and the answers. Sure, there are useful tips and tricks that we can learn from others; we can ask questions, seek advice, observe them. But we shouldn’t be trying to be a replica of them, because all we’ll end up becoming is a shadow. We have our own gifts to offer and talents to share. We can create our own rules, build our own set of expectations, and find our own answers to our own problems. We don’t need to follow in someone else’s path. We don’t need to compare our journey to anyone else’s. We don’t need to do what everyone else is doing.

Being proud of yourself

As the year draws to a close, we often take a look at the map of the journey we’ve plotted this year. There might be a few patches of uphill struggle. There might be a few circles, and even a few dead ends. Or maybe a lot. Nonetheless, we should be proud of ourselves and how far we’ve come. Because no matter where we are, our map shows that we tried, we conquered, we learnt something. We remained strong and determined. And sometimes we fell apart and it was ok. We should be proud of what we’ve achieved, no matter how small or how trivial, they seem, even if it’s just bring proud that we didn’t give up on ourselves. Because our achievements have made us into who we are today and who we can be tomorrow. Celebrate those moments and use them as your fuel to make yourself proud next year.

Thought of the Day: Uncertainty

when nothing is sure

We’re often anxious about uncertainty. We’d like to colourfully visualise and meticulously plan and effortlessly see our ideas come alive. But we also see how quickly plans can burn or wash away that we’re too frightened to even create them. But we should also see the beauty of uncertainty. Because uncertainty brings possibility. When life is uncertain, anything is possible – including the monumental, the miraculous, the magnificent. Anything is possible. And it’s all in our own hands. Conceive it, believe it, achieve it and live it.

Can or Can’t?

Sean Stephenson quote

Our decision to believe we can or believe we can’t sets us on significantly altered paths. A lot of the time, we believe we can’t, often because of our past, our cultures, and those around us. But we have to remember that these shouldn’t define what we can accomplish. We’re constantly gaining experience, getting smarter, and evolving. Our culture just portrays things as they are and have been, not necessarily how things should be. And we are all too different to each other to even compare between us. Just because someone else cannot achieve something, doesn’t mean we can’t. If you can conceive something and you can believe in it, then you can achieve it. Don’t let anything or anyone stop you.
