It may seem strong and heroic to navigate storms alone. But it’s ok to ask for help, to seek comfort, and to find strength in others. Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable. Don’t be afraid of looking defeated. Because those who aren’t are the ones who are the most strong and successful in the end. They lean on others, they take the hand offered to them, and they grow higher because of it.
Look again. Our first glance is always clouded. With preconceptions and misconceptions, with doubt and fear, with insecurity and defeat. But if we look again, we might catch a new perspective, a new possibility, a new answer. We tend to rule ourselves out before we even give ourselves chance. Have a little faith in yourself. And have another look. You can do it.
We would never be able to fall in love if we weren’t willing to take the chance of heartbreak. We would never be able to taste victory without accepting the possibility of defeat. We would never progress forward without overcoming the threats of limits. We would never learn to appreciate what we have without having lost something valuable. We would never know how strong we can be without being pulled apart piece by piece. Let’s not hide from the beauty of life in fear that we will find run into unpleasantries. Life is only experienced in its entirety when we are open to all its offerings. Let’s not become one of those who lives in “the gray twilight that knows not victory or defeat”.
