Stop beating yourself up for something you did when you were a different person. Start focusing on where you’re going and how you’re going about it. Don’t let the sadness of the past rob the happiness of now. Always forgive, but never forget, learn from your mistakes, but never regret.
You matter. Your mind matters. Your voice matters. Your body matters. Your actions matter. Your opinion matters. Your dreams matter. Your hopes matter. Your perspective matters. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. And especially don’t tell yourself otherwise. You are good enough. You are strong. And you are important. Don’t forget it. Don’t hide away. You matter more than you know.
People change. Time ticks on and life goes on, so people change. Sometimes they’re tested to new extremes. Sometimes old wounds are ripped open. And we all respond differently. People break, people fight, people forget, people grow. And we cannot expect others to respond the same way we would. We cannot tell others how to feel. Sometimes all we can do is listen and comfort.
