Sometimes we find it hard to set boundaries. We fall into bad patterns, succumb to bad habits, and end up blurring the lines. Sometimes we let our work lives encroach on our home lives. Sometimes we let our lack of confidence erase our record of successes. Sometimes we let people walk over us when we should be kicking them out our lives. But remember to keep maintaining those boundaries. They are what will keep us on the right track to happiness, what we want and what we deserve.

Don’t let anyone tell you what to do with your life. Don’t let anyone tell you what to do with your body. Don’t let anyone tell you what to do with your money. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re not beautiful. Don’t let anyone tell you you won’t be successful. Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do something. Don’t let someone tell you you’re smaller than them. Your life is your life. Your heart, your opinions, you passion, your voice should be the one you listen to above the noise of everyone else’s.
There are seven days in a week, each full of potential. Someday isn’t one of them, no matter how many times we tell ourselves it is. Most things scheduled for someday end up lost. Make time for what you want. Excuse your excuses. Take the first step. Get out there and just do it. Life’s too short to wait for someday. It won’t be coming round anytime soon.
We cannot travel through life alone. But we need to make sure we choose to be around people who will guide us when we’ve lost our way, give us courage when we’re scared to move forward, and give us strength when we grow tired. We shouldn’t surround ourselves with people who constantly weigh us down or trip us up, no matter what excuses we make for them. You deserve to be surrounded by love. Don’t settle for something less.

None of us have it all figured out. And we never will. But that shouldn’t stop us from putting ourselves out there, pursuing our dreams, trying things out, getting into a muddle, finding our feet again, or choosing another path. We don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward. And whatever we do, wherever we go, whoever we meet, it’s going to be all the better because we did it our way.

Not every day will be a ‘good’ day. But there’s still something good in every day, no matter how small: an accomplishment, a smile, a hug, a chat, a cup of coffee, a book, a bath, a walk, a song. If today isn’t turning out to be a good day, there’s still time to turn it around. Bad days don’t equal a bad life. They just make us appreciate the good even more.
“No matter how old we are, age is just a number, it’s never too late to love, to reach out or care for each other, to forgive a brother, or to find a lover. Life is a mystery waiting to be discovered.”
Make your time count.
Listen to your heart. The pace quickens when it finds something it’s passionate about. The pace quickens when it finds thrill in a possibility. The pace quickens when it finds beauty in a path less travelled. You can’t go wrong if you run with it.
Life is an experiment. People might tell you they’ve got it all figured out. People might tell you they have the recipe to success. People might tell you the rules to follow. But we’re all just making our way through life as blindly as each other. It won’t be the same for anyone. But as daunting as it sounds, that’s a beautiful opportunity. We can make our life whatever we want it to be.
Sometimes we fall into the habit of thinking we have to find happiness, find success, find fortune. Sometimes we think they will land in our laps and sometimes we think they only come to the chosen few. But actually, we make happiness, make success, make fortune. It isn’t about luck and it isn’t about how much privilege we were born into, even if it seems like these would help. We have the most important tools already: determination and hustle, positivity and perspective, strength and faith, lessons from mistakes in the past, wisdom from observing life around us. We might need to nurture them and strengthen them. But they are there. They’re all there waiting for you to use them. Anyone can be happy, success, fortunate. Including you.
