Life is a journey. Life wanders into unknown places, stopping at some and flying past others. Life tries to follow the course set out for it, but must sometimes find a different way to its destination. Life doesn’t stop for anyone, even if it’s not going anywhere. Such is life. Let’s get on board and make the most of it.
Don’t worry if you don’t have it all figured out. Life rarely follows the plans we make anyway. So instead, find greatness in the unexpected, find beauty in the journey, and find strength in the challenges. Live in the moment and live for the moment. The trek up the mountainside only brightens the view at the top of the mountain.
When your ride gets thrown off track, it can be overwhelming. Perhaps something has turned your life upside down. Perhaps things have been piling up and weighing you down. Either way, it can feel like there’s no way out. We’ve got to strip it back down to basics. First of all, remind yourself that everything will be ok. Then, remember everything you’ve still got. Next, slowly pull yourself out of the wreckage. Finally, repeat all the above until you’re back on track. The journey might not be the same, but it will still be the ride of your life.
There’s no roadmap. There’s no elevator. There’s no manual. But there’s a journey. And you’re in the driver’s seat. You determine what you do and where you’ll go. You only know what you know but that will serve you well. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s going to be worth it – and most importantly it’s going to be yours. Keep your eyes ahead and your foot on the accelerator.
Don’t forget where you came from, where you’ve been, and what you have. Our roots don’t define who we are, but even the darkest paths have the brightest endings. And we have lots to celebrate, lots to be grateful for, and lots to embrace that’s worth remembering. Where we go will be even sweeter if we remember where we’ve been and appreciate where we are. Never let the things you want make you forget the things you have.
Success cannot exist without failure. Happiness cannot exist without hardship. Strength cannot exist without weakness. The key lies with not giving up when times are tougher. If we hold on a little longer, it will be brighter round the corner. The path is nearly exactly the same; the destination depends on what you believe it to be before you reach it.
Happiness takes work. We find it in accomplishments, in relationships, in dreams. And they take work. But we have to remember to sometimes stop, wherever we are, and take in that moment to be happy. There’s so much to be happy about right in front of us too, whether we’re at the bottom of the mountain, in the middle of a tightrope, or at the finish line. Don’t forget to be happy during your pursuit to happiness too. Otherwise, can we ever be happy at all?
