A little patience can go a long way. When you’re on the edge of giving up, hold on a little longer. When you’ve made a mistake, give yourself another chance. When something is harder for someone than it is for you, hold their hand tighter. Perseverance. Determination. Hustle. Endurance. They’re all rooted in patience. Keep going. Keep holding on. Keep believing. Good is coming your way.
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars, to change the world ~ Harriet Tubman
Hold onto who you are. Hold onto your dignity, compassion and enthusiasm. Hold onto your patience, tolerance and forgiveness. Hold onto those who inspire and energise you, who laugh and cry with you. Hold onto love, the love others give you and your capacity to love endlessly. Hold onto the beautiful memories of times past. Hold onto hope for the future and for the unknown. Hold onto today. Hold on tight to the good things in life. Be careful they don’t slip through the cracks or shatter on the floor. Not all great things happen twice.
Our weaknesses are not a life-sentence. We can always practise. We can always learn. We can always adapt. We can always embrace. We can master our weaknesses. We might lack confidence, patience, determination, optimism, discipline, or another asset. But that doesn’t mean we cannot master them. Whether that’s to hone that new skill or just to accept our weakness and adjust. Because all that really matters is that we don’t let them limit us, but that we push ourselves forward despite them.
Sometimes we feel like there’s no way out. Sometimes we feel like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes we cannot see the stars. Sometimes we don’t want to get out of bed. Sometimes we don’t feel good enough. Sometimes we feel alone. Sometimes we feel like there’s nothing to hold onto. And all these feelings are valid. But that doesn’t mean we’re right. Sometimes we’ve got to be patient, even when it’s excruciating. Sometimes we’ve got to keep on going, even if we don’t know where. And most of all, we’ve got to love ourselves, even if we don’t think we’re worthy of it. Life will get better. Life will get easier. You deserve life and love and light. Don’t give up on it.
Treating each other with kindness, patience and respect forms a beautiful cycle of love. When we help another person, they may not always have the ability to repay us. But they give us a different kind of gift. When we act with kindness and respect towards another person, people notice and will respect us for it. In our times of trouble, they will be more willing to lend their own hands. When we act with kindness and respect towards another person, we also begin to respect ourselves. Love is how we help others to be better people. And love is how we become better people. Let’s spread the light.
Patience encompasses a great deal more than just waiting. It entails a keen determination to keep going past numerous difficulties. It involves a deep courage to have faith in our visions, dreams and imagination when the end is nowhere in sight. It requires a calmness to accept time as an uncontrollable phenomenon but to chase it nonetheless. Good comes to those who are patient, who persevere, and who are confident.
He that can have patience can have what he will – Benjamin Franklin
