The message of Christmas

As we gather together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, let us pray for the world he came to save, that all its people may recognise their responsibility for its future, and may be inspired by the message of Christmas to work together for the establishment of justice, freedom, and peace everywhere; and for all in special need: the sick, the anxious, the lonely, the fearful, and the bereaved; that the peace and light of the Christ-child may bring hope and healing to all who sit in darkness.

Change it up

At times, we can feel lost and confused. At times, we can feel anchored and overwhelmed. At times, we can feel numb and spiritless. And sometimes it can be hard to figure out how to break free from those emotions. Simply, it lies with change. Sometimes we have to change our minds, change our plans, and change our paths. Sometimes we have to change our perceptions, change our attitudes, and change our motivations. Sometimes the change is a leap and sometimes the change is incremental. Don’t be afraid of it. Own it, because life doesn’t stop for anyone. Put yourself in the driver’s seat and change it up.

Christmas Magic

Christmas Miracle on 34th Street

There is something so magical about Christmas time. It is so much more than a day for receiving gifts. It is the season for giving, sharing and loving. It is the time of miracles, believing and hope. It is the season for forgiveness, grand gestures and reconciliation. It is the time of generosity, charity and gratitude. Christmas is a celebration of all these things. There is an energy circling around the earth that spreads to all corners. Love and joy are everywhere. Whether we celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday or not, we need to keep this in our hearts, extending the magic to all aspects of our lives and to all year round. Christmas isn’t just a day; it is a frame of mind, a way of life, a powerful tool. Hold onto it and make the most of it.

This has been one of my favourite Christmas songs this year, that I think really captures this spirit. ‘December Prayer’ by Idina Menzel:
