Recipe for happiness

  
You can be anyone and still be happy. You can be anywhere and still be happy. You can do anything and still be happy. There are no set ingredients and no set recipes for happiness. No matter what family you’re born into, what your past looks like or what mistakes you’ve made, you can still be happy. It’s about being true to who you are, being grateful for what you have and being hopeful for what is to come. Be who you want to be and do what you want to do, and happiness will not be far behind.

It’s easy to spout an opinion. It’s easy to pass judgement. It’s easy to talk about how life should be. But it really means nothing without action. Sure, we need an idea and a vision, but that’s all they’ll ever be if we don’t put them into action ourselves. We need to stop telling and start doing. We need to stop expecting it all from others and start leading by example. We inspire, motivate and nurture others through practicing what we preach not just preaching what we should practice. Every movement starts with someone putting it into motion. The action is the match that ignites the flame.

Thought of the Day: Self-awareness

  
There’s so much noise in our heads about who we should be, most of it being others’ expectations and norms. But we can’t live life by someone else’s rules and we shouldn’t have to fit in someone else’s box. It can be hard to sift through all the noise, but somewhere buried deep you’ll find your own voice, your own thoughts and your own feelings. Take a moment and ask yourself: When are you at your best? When are you the happiest? When do you feel most comfortable? Who are you when no one is watching? Who are you when you don’t give a damn? What do you love about yourself? What would you like to be better at? There are no right way to be. But there is a right way to be you, and that’s just to be yourself, whoever that is. Be aware of it and let it vibrate through you. There’s no other way to be.

Take time to think

 
Take some time to think, to breathe. It’s not easy in a world that pushes us to stay busy, physically and mentally. But if we don’t, life will be exhausting and it will take its toll. Take a bath or a long shower to wash away the dirt of the day. Take a walk outside to air out the pollution clogging up your lungs. Take a journal and pour out all negativity with the ink of the pen. Take to the floor and meditate to let go of your worries about the future and bring yourself to the present moment. Invest some time in yourself. Take time to be with your own thoughts. You’ll thank yourself for it later.

Our mind is our passport to any place we want to go. When we believe in ourselves, we can climb mountains. When we have faith in others, our relationships blossom beyond our expectations. When we remain positive in the face of adversity, we find blessings in what we already have. When we trust that life can be different, we have the power to change. When we master our mind, we master our body, our happiness, our success, our relationships, our confidence, and so much more. All our cans and cannots are figments of our mind. Our life achieves what our mind believes.
